Psychopath

I just wanted to take a moment to explain Luke Michael's expression in the swimming cap picture. There is a distinct disadvantage to having a baby when you also have older children (16 and 13). Alex and Samantha have figured out that they can teach Luke Michael neat little tricks. One of those tricks is that when they yell "psychopath", Luke Michael makes a strange psychotic facial expression. The first time it was funny, so I broke out the camera while the kids were yelling psychopath. Unfortunately, now Luke Michael thinks he has to make a psychotic face every time he sees the camera. Can't wait to take him to Olan Mills!!!

We Can Sleep Again

The Overton Household has been swept up in Phelps Mania (Samantha has already asked for a Phelps cardboard cut-out to match her Kasey Kahne one :-)). Unfortunately swimming doesn't come on until after 10:00 p.m. so I've been forced to stay up way past my bedtime for the past week. Thankfully Phelps has finished his swimming (by winning a record 8 gold medals in case you haven't heard), so I will now be able to go to bed at a reasonable hour. Of course Luke Michael has been staying up with us, so his schedule is a little off too. Hopefully it won't take long for him to get back on schedule.

Here is a picture of Luke Michael with his favorite Phelps attire -- actually he just has a swim goggle fetish and likes to wear any type of goggle around the house. He is also particularly fond of my pink swim cap and has worn it to the grocery store on several occasions (hey - you pick your battles!!).

Back from Vacation - Luke Michael meets Moses; Moses parts more than the Red Sea

Well we are back from a 7 day whirlwind tour of Alabama, visiting L.D.'s side of the family. We only spent $450 on gas and only had one trip to the emergency room - so the vacation was successful :-)

This picture was taken shortly before the ER visit. We were visiting L.D.'s sister, Debbie. Debbie has a little Dachshund named Moses whom Luke Michael took a particular liking to. Apparently Moses did not feel the same way about Luke Michael and when Luke Michael invaded Moses' space, Moses returned the favor by invading Luke Michael's face. The result was a trip to the ER for 3 stitches to the cheek area right next to his right ear (with his I mean Luke Michael and not Moses). The stitches came out today and everything looks good. Needless to say - I feel like I need another vacation to recuperate from this vacation!!!
